Early Years Practitioner Diploma
Develop the knowledge and competence expected in Early Years roles, including child development, safeguarding, professional practice, play, observation and supporting children’s learning.
SEND knowledge and confidence
Build your understanding of special educational needs and disability so you can support children more inclusively and contribute confidently in nurseries, schools and childcare settings.
Employment progression support
Receive careers guidance, CV and application support, interview preparation, employer insight and help planning your next step into work, further study or an apprenticeship.

You may be suitable if you:
- Are aged 19 or over and live in London, subject to final funding eligibility checks.
- Want to start or progress a career in Early Years, childcare, nursery work, SEND support or education.
- Can commit to the expected delivery pattern and attend consistently.
- Are ready to complete written coursework and take part in practical learning.
- Are willing to continue applying for suitable roles and engage with employment support.
- Can attend an in-person screening and initial assessment if shortlisted.

Shortlisted applicants attend an in-person information, advice and guidance session.
Initial assessment
You complete BKSB assessments so we can understand English, digital confidence and support needs.
Outcome and enrolment
We contact applicants after screening. Successful learners then complete formal enrolment.
Structured learning with practical support.
Enrolment opens in July 2026, with induction taking place before taught classes. Classes are expected to run from September 2026 to January 2027, with a blended pattern of two on-site days and one online day. Final timetables and venue details will be confirmed with successful applicants.

Is the programme really free?
Yes. The programme is fully funded for eligible learners. Your eligibility will be checked before enrolment.
What qualifications will I work towards?
The planned pathway includes the Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner (RQF) and the Level 2 Certificate in Special Educational Needs and Disability (RQF).
Do I need previous Early Years experience?
Previous experience is not necessarily required. What matters is genuine interest, realistic commitment and suitability for the programme. We will explore this through your application and screening.
What happens at screening?
You will receive information, advice and guidance about the programme and complete initial assessments. These help us understand your starting point, digital confidence and any support you may need.
What if I am worried about my English?
Please do not rule yourself out. The course does include written coursework, but we assess applicants individually rather than asking you to judge your own level. Apply and let the screening process give us a clearer picture.
Does applying guarantee me a place?
No. Places are limited. Applications are reviewed and suitable applicants may be invited to screening before final decisions and enrolment.
Will the programme guarantee me a job?
No training programme can guarantee employment. Pro-Ex will provide progression support and help you strengthen your route into suitable work, but you will need to remain active and committed in your own job search.
Where will the course take place?
On-site delivery will take place at: Studio Wayne McGregor, Here East Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London E15 2GW take place in Newham, East London, with part of the programme delivered online. Exact venue and timetable details will be confirmed with successful applicants.
